As the end of 2018 draws ever closer
Tile Market Trends for 2019. As the end of 2018 draws ever closer, like anything else, tile market trends are changing all the time. Much like any room, decorating your walls or floor by adding stunning tiles is one of the easiest ways to create a visual impact. What we choose to put in these areas affects the overall view of the home to a visitor. This year, several designs caught the eye, and below we’ve listed a few that have gone above and beyond the average imagination.
Indigo Blue Tiling
A largely popular choice due to its use of sea colours, Indigo Blue has been known to add a touch of personality to bathroom designs. They are hard wearing tiles and, whilst not a traditional wood tone often used on floors, they are ideal for introducing a stylish statement. Made of ceramic, they provide a strong alternative to wallpapering walls because of their durability, and they can also add value to your home.
Terracotta Tiling
A design that’s been noted as a ‘re-emerging trend’, Terracotta Tiling is a clay-based ceramic tile known for being hard and durable. Unlike previous years, the current trend around Terracotta Tiling is a more natural, matte finish. It also provides an instant vintage feel, perfect for country kitchens and can create a cosy feel to a small room, as well as an appearance of warmth in larger spaces.
Zellige Tiling
Stemming from Morocco, these are handmade clay tiles that are shown in a variety of vibrant colours. With its unique partnership through the blending of colours, it has proven to be a popular choice on bathroom walls, kitchen walls and in conservatories.
Geometric Cement Tiles
Despite being around for a number of years, the use of Geometric Tiles in flooring has risen during 2018. Notoriously appealing in hallways, they’re also moving into kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms. They are well-known for providing a kaleidoscope-like effect, giving you an attention-grabbing aspect within your dream home!
Brickwork Tiles
Although the original version has almost dropped off the map, Subway Tiles have evolved significantly. They are now designed to take more wear and tear than ever and can provide a great industrial, rustic or urban look in your home. They are often used as “splashbacks” in kitchens and look great on bathroom walls.
