Preparation of the substrate Substrates must comply with BS 5385, parts 1-5, be level, cured, undamaged, compact, rigid, dry and free from any de-bonding agents. It is good practice to dampen highly absorbent concrete substrates or apply a coat of Active Prime Fix.
